TRANSTAR 7024 Euro Classic Clearcoat is designed for applications requiring the ultimate finish appearance. This high solids
clearcoat provides optimum flow and leveling, and imparts a glass-like finish. It has excellent flexibility and is
resistant to stone chips and abrasions. Ideal for use over single stage or base/clear applications. May be used in air
dry, downdraft, or force dry applications.

77°F, 50% Relative Humidity. NOTE: The use of accelerators is not recommended. The use of accelerators
can lead to pin holing, die back and other defects.

SANDING:
DA (Dry): #1200-1500, finish #2000 Hand (Wet): #1200-1500, finish #2000
SUITABLE SUBTRATES:
Basecoats and Single Stage Colors (water and solvent based), Acrylic Urethanes, Most acrylic enamels, or over sanded and degreased existing finishes. Note: Do not apply over acrylic lacquer topcoats or over unsanded existing finishes.
MIXING & APPLICATION:
Mix 2 parts clearcoat (7021 to 1 part activator (7086/7096) by volume. (Use a measuring stick or mixing cup for accurate measuring.) Reduction is optional up to 10% by volume using the Urethane Grade Reducer  or Zero VOC Urethane Grade Reducer suitable for the shop temperature. (Note: Urethane Grade Reducers will increase sprayable VOC content and Zero VOC Urethane Grade Reducers will not increase VOC.) For optimum appearance, activate clearcoat immediately before applying. clearcoat should not be applied over acrylic lacquers, or unsanded existing finishes.
Apply 2 - 3 flowing coats (2.2 - 3.6 mils @ 1.2 mils per coat) using the spray gun setting listed below. Flash for 10 – 15 minutes depending on activator used (refer to dry to sand chart on page one). Keep spray gun nozzle 6 - 10 inches from the vehicle to avoid entrapment of air in paint film. Always keep containers tightly closed to prevent moisture contamination. Clean equipment thoroughly after use.
TECHNICAL TIPS:
CRITICAL RECOAT:
Allow adequate flash time between coats (see chart above), but recoat within the hour. If the dry time exceeds 60 minutes, allow to dry a full 6 hours before proceeding with additional coats. After 24 hours, lightly scuff the clear coat before applying additional material.
FORCE DRYING:
Allow clear to flash 15 minutes @ 70°F, then bake for 40 minutes at 140°F.
POLISHING:
For dirt removal, lightly nib sand with 1500 grit abrasive and polish with compound. For best results, compound within 24 and 72 hours of application.
