    Description

New. Plug-in electronic transformer for powering low voltage halogen lighting systems (i.e. 50 watt MR16 halogen display light fixtures).
    - Brand new.
    -
    INPUT: 120V 60Hz 0.5A
    -
    OUTPUT: 11.5Vac 5A, 60 Watts MAX
    - UL Listed, Class 2 Electronic Transformer
    - Short Circuit Protected
    - extra length 12 foot long hardwired cord
    - will power
    one 50watt
    or
    one, two, or three 20watt
    12volt MR16 halogen light bulbs.
    - 20 watt minimum load required
The transformer cord end has the .062" (1.57mm) female black plastic Molex connector shown in the pictures. The .062" Molex connector is a standard pin-and-socket connection system. The .062" Molex female two-socket connector on the transformer cord end can be connected to a .062" Molex-type male two-pin connector that has two .062" diameter terminal pins.
Please note that there are two common Molex connector sizes, .062 and .125. This transformer has the smaller .062 connector. If you need the larger .125 connector, this connector will not work. Please check all of the listing pictures above and make sure you need the .062 connector!
This transformer requires a minimum 20 watt load, and will power up to a maximum 60 watt load. It will not work properly for loads less than 20 watts (i.e. it will not properly power a 10 watt bulb). I have tested and confirmed these transformers can power one 20 watt bulb, two 20 watt bulbs (40 watts total), one 50 watt bulb, or three 20 watt bulbs (60 watts total).
    The front label reads:
    "PILOT MODEL: LVT-01, Input: 120V 60Hz 0.5A, Output: 11.5Vac 5A 60W, CLASS 2 Transformer, Indoor Use Only!"
    The back label reads:
"Short Circuit Protected. Remove Short to Reset. Test Transformer with Min 20 Watt Lamp. Standard Dimmer May Be Used On the 120 Volt Side."
Note on testing: we test every transformer before shipping with a 50 watt 12 volt MR16 bulb to make sure the bulb lights and the transformer works. We momentarily stick the MR16 bulb prongs into the two connector cord holes and confirm the bulb lights up. If you want to check the transformer when you receive it, we recommend sticking a 12 volt MR16 bulb in the end of the cord momentarily to confirm it works.
Testing with a voltmeter: To test the transformer, you must apply a minimum 20 watt load before measuring AND you must use
a special "true RMS" voltmeter. A
standard AC voltmeter cannot measure the output of a high frequency electronic transformer. If you test without loading the transformer or without using a "true RMS" voltmeter, you may get no voltage or an incorrect low voltage (i.e. 2.3 VAC or 2.92 VAC).
