    LUBRICATION SERVICE INFORMATION
Figures and numerals printed in italics and enclosed in parenthesie, as (D-1), refer to illus-
trations and descriptions appearing on the Mobilubrication Disc Chart which are applicable
    to 1959 construction.
FRONT SUSPENSION: Movement of each lower control arm is controlled by a torsion bar, rather than a coil spring. The
torsion bar is hex-shaped at each end. The front end is anchored in the lower control arm while the rear end is anchored in the
frame side rail. Movement of the lower control arm tends to twist the torsion bar. Front car height can be changed by adjust-
ing, twisting, the torsion bar at ita rear end. The steering knuckle is mounted on ball Joints in the upper and lower control
arma and are the only points in the front suspension requiring lubrication, a total of four points.
TRANSMISSION (3 SPEED CONVENTIONAL)(D-1)- Standard on Windsor. Check lubricant level every 1000 miles. Add lubri-
cant as required. Drain and refill every 10,000 miles. Never steam clean or use kerosine or solvents to flush housing.

then push selector buttons through all ranges and back to "N" position. Dipstick and filter hole on right side are reached from
under hood. Remove all dirt from around dipstick. If engine and transmission are hot, after car has been driven for several
miles, the fluid level should be between the "FULL" mark and the "ADD ONE PINT" marks on the dipstick. If transmi ssion
is cold, below 100°F, the fluid level should be between the "ADD ONE PINT" mark and a point 1/2" below. Maintain level
    with Mobilfluid 200.
Drain transmission every 20,000 miles or as often as 10,000 miles when the car is driven under any of the following conditions:
Police car or taxicab operation; Frequent towing of trailers; Frequent heavy traffic in hot weather; Continuous operation at

miles. Never steam clean nor use kerosine or solvents to flush housing. Sure-Grip limited slip differential optional and can be
identified by letter "S" stamped directly after the stamped ratio on the lower side of the carrier case. After draining, refill with

circumstances. The ofl should be at the "FULL" mark on the reservoir. Maintain fluid at its indicated level with Mobilfluid
    200. Replace cover. Fluid from reservoir also lubricates steering gear.

manifold is cool, to keep shaft free. If shaft becomes frozen, free it by tapping each end of the shaft lightly with a hammer.
