    Description

    Up for auction is a very nice 1827 capped bust half dollar. Using the fifth edition of Don Parsley's Overton guide to US Early Half Dollar Varieties, and Glenn Peterson's Guide to Attributing Bust Half Dollars, I've determined this coin to be O-141. This is an R-3 which in rarity rating is considered scarce. The coin shows no hair lines, but it is very darkly toned. I would grade this as a VF. This is a no reserve auction so bid accordingly and have fun. I have other bust halves up for auction so be sure to take a look.
