    Up for auction is a very nice 1822 capped bust half dollar. Using the fifth edition of Don Parsley's Overton guide to US Early Half Dollar Varieties, and Glenn Peterson's Guide to Attributing Bust Half Dollars, I've determined this coin to be O-112. This is an R-4+ which in rarity rating is very scarce to rare. I would grade this coin as a VF but look at the photos and make your own decision. This is an original coin showing no hairlines but there is a rim ding at 7 o'clock on the obverse.This is a no reserve auction so bid accordingly and have fun.
