    Description

    1807 O.114 Large Stars Capped Bust half dollar, PCGS VF details, code 92 for cleaned.  This is not the common O.112 variety, which PCGS chooses to call Large Stars (though they specify 50/20) as well.  This variety is the real Large Stars - as defined by Al Overton, the Redbook and so recognized by the broader market - and is quite scarce as such.  Yes, it was cleaned long ago, and there are some old hairlines to be found, but it is not bright, there is lovely, medium golden toning and a complete lack of any other issues.  Even the strike is pretty good, which is not always the case!
